As the tagline of my blog's header states, the Truth is stranger than Fiction, but more often than not it's also a lot grimmer. Several days ago my good friend Tom posted a blog entry over on the Polyblog about the current state of Iraq and the execution of Saddam Hussien. Which led to a long discussion about what the real agenda behind the Iraqi war was/is. We discussed both "logical" and "conspiratorial" ideas behind the war, which led us to talking about secret societies. Well I'm currently sitting here watching the History Channel which just so happens to be showing a program about secret societies. Well they got to the part about the Skull & Bones, and about George W. Bush being a former member. Ok so getting to the point of this post, they mentioned in the show that the President had formered his own company after leaving the Skulls. In 1977 President Bush founded Arbusto Energy ("arbusto" means "bush" in Spanish) a petroleum and energy company, along with a group of investors which included Dorothy Bush, Lewis Lehrman, William Henry Draper III, Bill Gammell, and James R. Bath.
It was later revealed that James Bath made an investment of $50,000 while representing Salem bin Laden of the Saudi Binladin Group. This fact became controversial after the September 11, 2001 attacks due to Salem bin Laden being an older, half-brother of Osama bin Laden, who was the primary suspect in the planning and financing of the attacks and alleged conspirators. The Bush family's business dealings with the bin Laden family were criticized by many; a small group allege that the Bush/bin Laden business relationship led to Osama bin Laden being groomed as a CIA asset.
Another rather interesting fact is that Vice President Dick Cheney was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton Energy Services; he is still a major stockholder. Which also is in the oil business.
Coincedence? Maybe, but I doubt it. Obviously both of these men are going to gain something from this futile war, and yet they continually jack up our gas prices.
And so the plot thickens......

Really sorry I haven't replied to any of your posts. You've written about some interesting things which build nicely on our discussion a few weeks ago about Bush, Iraq and the motives that surround the controversy.
No problem, you've been busy so I can understand...lol Yeah there's just so much evidence of what this president could gain from this war aside from being written into US history as the worst president ever. Unfortunately the newly elected congress hasn't really provided any good plans for how to deal with the growing mess in Iraq, but even if they did and Bush didn't agree with it he wouldn't do it. I honestly think we need to get the hell out of there. It's already well known that it's a civil war going on over there, so what are we doing aside from creating more mayham? Are we actually helping these people at all? I haven't seen any progress, have you? And now we're rattling Iran's cage with the same bullshit we pulled with Saddam Hussein. Oh no they have weapons of mass destruction, and they've been aiding terrorists! Guess what, we have WMDs too and we help create terrorists. I can only imagine what the rest of the world thinks of us. Hypcritical retards, or hypocritical evil masterminds? That's why those Middle Eastern countries hate us and Israel because we're hypocrites, and in Islam hypocrites are what they call "none believers". I was extremely curious about this religion so I went to the library and checked out the Qu'ran. Anyway, I really feel bad for these people. The extremists, I can't stand, but I mean extremists in all forms of religion, because we have them here too, throwing stones at the families of dead soliders. I sympathize with the everyday Muslim, the poor souls caught up in this religious chaos. I mean a week or so ago I was watching a news piece on CNN where they had taped this Israeli woman harrassing this poor Palestinian family. She was cursing at them and just saying such horrible things. She was spitting on them and trying to hit them through the bars they had to put up on their porch to protect themselves from other people who have been harrassing them besides this woman. The worst part is is that the authorities knew who this woman was and yet they did nothing. I almost wanted to cry, because of how these people are being treated simply because of what one group of extremists have done. You would think that Christians and Jews, after all the years of being persecuted, that they would show some sympathy for what Muslims are now going through. I'm sure some do, but it's become apparent that the majority probably don't. It's really sad that no one can see that we all live on the same planet, we all live under the same blue sky, that we all came from the same place. That we are all brothers and sisters, it doesn't matter what the color of our skin is or what god we believe or not believe in, we are all exactly alike. And sometimes you have to wonder if the world will ever realize that, why do we have to hate each other so much, when we're the same? And it's the truth, how far are we going to go before we become the terrorists? Or have we already gone that far?
